Nationwide Run For Aspire 10k

On Saturday 3/27 several members of the Sayville Running Company Racing Team were at it again. The second race on the GLIRC race calender was the Run For Aspire 10k. I would have to say that it was another great showing by the men of SRC especially the Masters Men Team. Here is a look at the SRC Racing Team Results:

3) Michael Petrina 32:40 5:16
4) Christopher Green 33:45 5:26
9) Paul Murphy 35:31 5:43 *1st Overall Master
18)Craig Banger 37:34 6:03
38)Timothy Henderson 39:52 6:25
43)Wayne Vartabedian 40:18 6:30
52)Karnik Seferian 41:02 6:37

For those of you who have never run the Aspire 10k I would highly recommend it. The course is a very challenging yet fair course. It has the right mix of uphills, downhills and flat fast sections. It is a race that every runner should get out and do at least once. I am sure that the other team members would back me up on that.

Suffolk County Half Marathon

The following day (3/28) some members of the SRC team ran at the Suffolk County Half Marathon. Great results again from those team members.

1) CHRISTOPHER GREEN 1:16:20 5:50 *1st Overall
4) MARK CARBONE 1:21:30 6:14
20)KATIE DIPIETRO 1:27:59 6:43 *2nd Female Overall

What’s a Prediction Run?:  A prediction run is a fun tradition we have where you win by guessing your time most accurately, not by running the fastest.  Therefore, just about anybody has the ability to win, not just the speedsters up front.   The SRC record currently stands at 2 seconds. See if you can beat it!

Come join us on December 7th, 2008 at Noon for one of our favorite SRC traditions.  There will be 2 runs to choose from of approximately 3 and 6 mile lengths.

For those of you unfamiliar with the term, a predic

tion run is simply a contest to see who can most accurately guess their finishing time for a run before they start.  Speed has nothing to do with the contest, it’s all about pacing.

The entry fee for the run is free, but we do ask that you bring a new, unwrapped toy for “Toys for Tots.”  We’ll provide the bagels, beverages and prizes, you just bring the fun.

The run starts from the store at high noon.  Remember to leave your watch in the car as they’re not allowed!

To RSVP Email: Brendan@SayvilleRunning.com or call (631)-589-5700
