We’re happy to announce the arrival of Polar at Sayville Running Company.  Industry leaders in all things heart rate related, Polar brings a very thorough technical component with it’s various watches and monitors.

We will be carrying primarily the running models, which include the RS100, RS200, and RS200SD amongst others.  These offer varying functions which can include heart rate, training zones, speed and distance and various post-workout reports.

If you’re interested in checking out any of the new Polar products, check out SRC’s website.

Don’t forget!  Thursdays at 6 there will be training runs ranging from 3 to 7 miles for high school and college athletes preparing for the cross country season.  We meet at the store, run and stretch.  Come down and meet other runners and learn about summer training from experienced collegiate and post-collegiate athletes.  There might even be a few fun freebies along the way.

SRC Racing Team member and bona-fide River Road Rat Bill Gironda was featured in an article in this month’s Runner’s World. The article [below] discussed the benefits of team training using two examples: Jason Lehmkuhle (of Cow Harbor Champ and 5th place finish at the Olympic Marathon Trials Fame) and our own favorite bald headed masters runner, Bill Gironda. Anytime an article mentions both the legendary River Road Sunday morning long run AND Billy G it’s a sure-fire lock to make the blog.
